Announcement: Young Adult Author Profiles Restored
We are happy to announce we have restored all the young adult author profile pages to the website that were available prior to our upgrade earlier this year. Although we have many new young adult authors yet to add, we are making strides everyday to restore our functionality to previous levels. We are hoping to have our searchable database back online soon. We are also working to restore our adult author profile pages, which are taking longer to restore due to the large volume.

Review: Deadly Captive - Deadly Captive Trilogy - Book 1
Sommerland,
Bianca “Deadly Captive Trilogy”
Book
1: Deadly Captive
“Bianca Sommerland’s “Deadly Captive”—book 1 in the “Deadly
Captive Trilogy”—is a twisted, erotic supernatural thriller. Sommerland draws readers into a deadly world
controlled by sadistic creatures that feed on sex and blood and use pain and
fear for entertainment. Her villains are
the most heinous of monsters. Her hero,
Joe (aka – Daederich), is brave, chivalrous, and virile. Her heroine, Lydia, is caring,
tender-hearted, and at a total loss for who she used to be. Sommerland’s h/h make magic as they work
together to survive their enslavement, find an escape, and seek their ultimate
revenge against their captors. Although “Deadly
Captive” contains material some readers may find offensive such as kidnapping,
torture, and dubious consent, Sommerland warns readers of the content and addresses
the topics in a realistic way.
Sommerland weaves a storyline filled with emotion, unexpected plot
twists, betrayal, and true love. Readers
will be captivated with Sommerland’s “Deadly Captive”.” Copyright 2013 by Amber

Review: Escape - The Vampire King Series - Book 1
Wright,
Kenya “The Vampire
King Series”
Book
1: Escape
“Kenya Wright’s “Escape”—book 1 in “The Vampire King
Series”—is an action-filled paranormal romance adventure. Wright creates a deadly vampire world where
human women with rare genes become the Quiet King’s personal breeding machines,
and babies born with the wrong genes are immediately slain. Her hero, Samuel, is dark, brooding,
powerful, mysterious, and utterly sexy.
Her heroine, Brie, is a self-sacrificing, self-denying, take charge kind
of woman. Her villain, the Quiet King,
is domineering, possessive, and sadistic.
The sparks between the h/h fly right off the page. Readers can’t help but love Samuel and Brie…and
loathe the heinous Quiet King. Wright
provides readers with an intense and erotic escape…a great start to a new
series.” Copyright 2013 by Amber L. Barr www.vampireandimmortalbooks.com
Review: Rock n Roll Promises - Rock n Roll Paraphantasy - Book 1
Shellea,
AmBear “Rock n Roll
Paraphantasy”
Book
1: Rock n Roll Promises
“AmBear Shellea’s “Rock n Roll Promises”—book 1 in
the “Rock n Roll Paraphantasy” series—is an intense and sensual paranormal
treat. Shellea creates an almost reality
world where vampires are different from the old legends, weres are their mortal
enemies, and anything goes if you’re willing (& able) to bend the
rules. Shellea’s characters are clever,
unique, and interesting. Her heroine,
Anna, is a new type of vampire who is almost human. She is witty, brazen, and enticing. Her hero, Jaxson, is his own special
supernatural entity. He is noble, rugged,
and virile. She also adds in a cast of
loveable supporting characters. Her
storyline includes numerous plot twists as well as music to help tell the
story. Although “Rock n Roll Promises”
is a highly sensual read, the eroticism doesn’t take away from the emotional
depth Shellea creates. “Rock n Roll
Promises” is a unique take on the vampire romance genre and a promising start
to an excellent new series.” Copyright 2013 by Amber L. Barr

Review: The Sacrifice
Anderson, Evangeline
The Sacrifice
“Evangeline Anderson’s
“The Sacrifice” is a dark and erotic paranormal romance filled with mystery,
adventure, and danger. Anderson includes
a variety of extraordinary supernatural characters to sate every para-lover’s
appetite including witches, vampires, weres, fairies, and satyrs. Anderson’s hero, Aiden, is the definitive
dominant alpha male with aggressive, possessive tendencies and a heavy
hand. Her heroine, Emma, is a developing
submissive who is barely obedient, hardly yielding, and always in need of
discipline. Although the story is primarily
a paranormal romance, Anderson interlaces dominate/submissive and domestic
discipline themes in a realistic way.
Compared with other Anderson novels, “The Sacrifice” is surprisingly
light on actual sex, but heavy on foreplay with a heat factor that is off the
chart. Anderson also includes a touching
storyline filled with plot twists and a surprise ending to keep readers engaged
to the bitter sweet finale.” Copyright

Review: Fall - The Senses - Book 3
Paterson,
Cindy L. “The Senses”
Book
3: Fall
“Cindy Paterson’s “Fall”—book 3 in “The Senses”
series—retraces the heartrending love story of Waleron and Delara. Paterson returns readers to her Senses world
shortly after the end of book two; however, she uses a mixed writing method to
move back and forth through time to integrate backstory with current events. Paterson resumes a lighter writing voice in “Fall”,
but the change in tone does not retract from the emotional depth and balance in
her characters. “Fall” is full of
action, betrayal, lust, love, anguish, forgiveness, and hope. Though all the ups and downs, Paterson has
readers rooting for a happily ever after and falling in love with “The Senses”
all over again.” Copyright 2013 by Amber L. Barr

Review: A Royal Heartbreak - The Moretti Werewolves - Book 2
Tee,
Marian “The Moretti
Werewolves”
Book
2: A Royal Heartbreak
“Marian Tee’s “A Royal Heartbreak”—Book 2 in “The
Moretti Werewolves” series—is the highly-anticipated, emotional, and erotic sequel
to “The Werewolf Prince and I”. Tee
returns readers to her fantastical world just days after the end of her
previous novel to resume the turbulent love story of Domenico and Misty. Tee brings back many characters introduced in
book 1, but also introduces a multitude of new characters to refresh the
series. The plot twists Tee adds to the
storyline include a spicy love triangle, numerous scoundrels with wicked
intents and purposes, and many hidden betrayals to be discovered…just to name a
few. Tee’s villains are wickeder than
ever, her heroes are nobler than ever, and her heroines are more brazen than
ever. “A Royal Heartbreak” takes readers
on a magical, emotional journey full of adventure, personal revelations, and
unexpected discoveries that will not disappoint.” Copyright 2013 by Amber L.

Review: Redemption - The Custos - Book 2
Walker,
Melanie “The Custos”
Book
2: Redemption
“Melanie Walker’s “Redemption”—book 2 in “The
Custos” series—invites readers back into the dark and deadly world of the
Custos vampires where danger lurks around every corner and betrayal can occur
in the blink of an eye. Walker brings
back all of the extraordinary main characters introduced in “Bliss”. She also introduces a host of new characters
to keep the storyline interesting. “Redemption”
focuses on the story of Preacher and Tavern, which is as tragic and tormented
as it is erotic and uplifting. Although
Walker spends the majority of the story on Preacher and Tavern’s complicated
love for one another, she does take time to advance the storylines of other
primary characters such as Cash, London, and Leushus. The circumstances in “Redemption” trigger a
chain reaction of events that are not without significant consequences for the characters
and release a well of emotions for readers.
“Redemption” will have readers laughing, crying, and begging for more…and
the release of “Infatuation” later this year.” Copyright 2013 by Amber L.

Article: How Do You Know What Your Getting???
Have you ever bought a book you didn't like? I know I have. Did you want a light romance and receive something better suited for a dark corner of an adult goodies store? Or maybe you were looking for something a bit naughty and ended up with a whole lotta' nice. There are a few simple tricks every reader should know that don't take much time, don't cost any money, and will help raise their ultimate book satisfaction rate.
First, familiarize yourself with the publishing houses. Many publishing houses specialize in a particular genre such as erotic, paranormal, or contemporary romance. The publishing houses may even use sub-imprints to help readers gauge the rating of a book's content. This trick will take less time than you think by paying a little attention to the titles you already buy. You will be surprised to find patterns in your purchases.
Second, watch for content warnings. With the recent boom in indie publishing, authors are adding their own content advisories to books. These warnings can range from simple age recommendations such as 18+ or 21+ to explicit warnings of graphic language, violence, or specific sexual content.
Third, check a book's reviews. Even if the author and/or publisher disclose content ratings, other readers may perceive the content differently. Please, read more than the first review you find. It takes at least three or four reviews to get a clear picture of a book's content because personal preferences vary.
Finally, if you are still in doubt about a book's content, submit a question to the author or publisher before you buy. If you have a question about a book's descriptive information, odds are other readers do too.
These tips aren't going to keep you from stumbling into a dud every once in awhile; however, they should help improve your chances of finding the types of books you are looking for. Remember, if you find content in a book that you consider objectionable that was not disclosed in the book description, send the author an e-mail rather than leaving destructive feedback. Honest mistakes such as programming errors happen and destructive feedback does not make an author or book better...it only hurts sales and puts your favorite authors out of business.

Review: Bliss - The Custos Series - Book 1
Walker,
Melanie “The Custos”
Book
1: Bliss
“Melanie Walker’s “Bliss”—book 1 in “The Custos”
series—invites readers to stroll on the dark side where nothing in this world
is what it seems and treachery can be found in the most unlikely places. Walker’s characters are unique and fiery, clever
and extraordinary. Her heroes are
brusque, masculine, tormented, commanding, hedonistic, and unapologetic. Her heroines are brash, feminine, strong, and
passionate. The chemistry Walker creates
between her h/hs is electrifying.
Readers are pulled into the action from the very first page. Walker fills her storyline with romance,
intrigue, danger, sorrow, humor, and eroticism.
Ms. Walker’s “The Custos” series is pure bliss.” Copyright 2013 by Amber L. Barr www.vampireandimmortalbooks.com
Review: The Dark Prince - The Dark Light Series - Book 2
Jennings,
S. L. “The Dark
Light Series”
Book
2: The Dark Prince
“S. L. Jennings’ “The Dark Prince”—book 2 in “The
Dark Light Series”—is the heart-rending continuation of Gabriella and Dorian’s
love story. Jennings brings back many of
the characters introduced in book 1; however, she also introduces a host of new
paranormal, human, and hybrid characters to keep the series interesting. Her heroes are aggressive, robust,
compelling, and hedonistic. Her heroines
are sassy, assertive, strong, and wanton.
Her villains are charismatic, capricious, volatile, and sadistic. Jennings character combinations explode off
the page. Although “The Dark Prince”
contains a fair amount of action and romance, the majority of the story is a
tear-jerking emotional exploration that is worth every step of the
journey. “The Dark Prince” will leave
readers anxiously looking forward to book 3 “Light Shadows”. Copyright 2013 by Amber L. Barr www.vampireandimmortalbooks.com
Review: Dark Light - The Dark Light Series - Book 1
Jennings,
S. L. “The Dark
Light Series”
Book
1: Dark Light
“S. L. Jennings’ “Dark Light”—book 1 in “The Dark
Light Series”—is a sexy yet twisted tale of forbidden true love between the
forces of good and evil. Jennings steps
out of the traditional demon/vampire paradigm to introduce a unique breed of
paranormal character that is sensual, powerful, mysterious, exotic, and
deadly. Jennings draws the reader into
her paranormal world by mixing real locations with fictional elements. She keeps the reader in her world by blending
multiple storylines with complex moral dilemmas then adds in a little action, a
whole lot of adventure, and plenty of red HOT romance to keep it
interesting. “Dark Light” is an erotic
and emotional read filled with intrigue, eroticism, and danger. Jennings sets the stage well for the start of
a successful and exciting new series.” Copyright 2013 by Amber L. Barr www.vampireandimmortalbooks.com
Review: Leto - Skinwalkers - Book 2
Bliler,
Susan A. “Skinwalkers”
Book
2: Leto
“Susan A. Bliler’s “Leto” –Book 2 of the
“Skinwalkers” series—is an engaging continuation of the erotic shifter
tale. Bliler’s hero, Leto, is the very
definition of an emotionally-damaged alpha male displaying hostile, aggressive,
combative, possessive, and domineering tendencies towards his fated female or
angel. Her heroine, Shy, is a more subtle
character because of her history of abuse, which Bliler realistically portrays
in her character. Bliler addresses dark
topics in “Leto” such as abuse and torture; however, the focus remains on the
way the main characters can overcome anything to achieve their own piece of
happily ever after. Bliler used less of
a hard-core military theme to weave “Leto” than she did the story of “Conn”,
but the underlying “bad boy soldier” feel is still present in the story to keep
readers from feeling disappointed. “Leto”
is erotic, emotional, and intense…another homerun by Ms. Bliler.” Copyright

Review: Tempted - The Dark Hart Chronicles - Book 1
Anthony, Alexandra “The Dark Hart Chronicles”
Book 1: Tempted
“Alexandra Anthony’s “Tempted”—book
1 in “The Dark Hart Chronicles”—is a paradox in the vampire romance genre…dark
yet light, serious yet humorous, mysterious yet erotic. “Tempted” is set in an almost reality world
where supernaturals attempt to blend in seamlessly with humans, and readers
feel as though they could be part of that world. Anthony’s hero, Nick, is a dark, tempting,
utterly decadent vampire rock star. Her
heroine, Savannah, is a smart, semi-confident, seriously sexy former teen
model/personal assistant. The chemistry
between Anthony’s h/h is off the charts!
Anthony also created a variety of secondary characters who are charming,
loveable, and remarkably clever. Readers
will be tempted to come back for more
of “The Dark Hart Chronicles”. Copyright

Review: Scarlet Heat - Born to Darkness Series - Book 2
Anderson, Evangeline “Born to Darkness Series”
Book 2: Scarlet
Heat
“Evangeline Anderson’s “Scarlet
Heat”—book 2 in the “Born to Darkness Series”—is the exciting and erotic sequel
to “Crimson Debt”. Anderson returns
readers to her almost reality world with secondary characters Taylor and Victor
to explore their quicky marriage and true love potential. Although Taylor played a rather significant
role in book 1, “Scarlet Heat” explores her personality, challenges, and
history in greater detail…as well as Victor’s.
Anderson uses the storyline to demonstrate the power of acceptance,
finding oneself, and ultimately finding love.
The adventure along the way is all part of the fun. Anderson will have readers giving themselves
over to the burn of the scarlet heat
and begging for the release of the “Ruby Shadows”. Copyright 2013 by Amber L. Barr

Review: Crimson Debt - Born to Darkness Series - Book 1
Anderson, Evangeline “Born to Darkness Series”
Book 1: Crimson
Debt
“Evangeline Anderson’s “Crimson
Debt”—book 1 in the “Born to Darkness Series”—is a thrilling paranormal erotic
tale about finding love and breaking all the rules. Anderson builds an almost reality world where
paranormals are no longer in the closet and humans are definitely on the menu…as
long as the vamps follow the rules.
Anderson’s cast of characters are clever, charming, loveable, and
extremely lethal. Her hero, Alec Corbin
or Master Corbin, is powerful, dominant, aggressive, and virile. He goes after what he wants and makes no
apologies. Her heroine, Addison Godwin,
is confident, brazen, sexy, and loyal.
She protects those she loves no matter the personal costs. Anderson’s h/h have chemistry that explodes
off the page. Readers can’t help but
turn the pages as Alec and Addison find their way to one another against all
the odds and against all the rules. Anderson
hits a home run with “Crimson Debt” as she starts a phenomenal new series.” Copyright 2013 by Amber L. Barr

Review: Eternally Yours - Immortal Beloved Series - Book 3
Tiernan, Cate “Immortal Beloved”
Book 3: Eternally
Yours
“Cate Tiernan’s “Eternally
Yours”—book 3 in the “Immortal Beloved” series—is the sensational conclusion to
the quintessential immortal series.
Although “Darkness Falls” left readers with the impression that Nastasya
and Reyn may have been well on their way to resolving their issues and find
their own little piece of happily ever after, “Eternally Yours” pulls readers
back into Nastasya and Reyn’s chaotic world where happily ever after comes with
a lot of hard work and a very hefty price.
Tiernan introduces more new characters who are as infuriating as they
are fascinating…increasing the suspense as well as the pleasure. “Eternally Yours” is fraught with danger,
intrigue, and romance as Nastasya finally learns the ultimate lessons about
herself and learns to accept her immortal destiny. Tiernan wraps the series nicely leaving
readers sated yet sorry to see the series end.” Copyright 2013 by Amber L. Barr

Review: Darkness Falls - Immortal Beloved Series - Book 2
Tiernan, Cate “Immortal Beloved”
Book 2: Darkness
Falls
“Cate Tiernan’s “Darkness
Falls”—book 2 in the “Immortal Beloved” series—is the fantastical sequel to “Immortal
Beloved”. Tiernan returns readers to
Nastasya’s world just days after leaving at the end of book 1 to pick-up on her
rehab progress and her Reyn relationship progress. Although many plot twists and turns were
resolved in book 1, things are still far from simple for Nastasya and Reyn…and
danger lurks around every curve. Tiernan
introduces new characters, new choices, and more background material to keep
the story interesting, which keeps readers turning the pages into the wee
hours. Another job well done for Ms.
Tiernan!” Copyright 2013 by Amber L.

Review: Immortal Beloved - Immortal Beloved Series - Book 1
Tiernan, Cate “Immortal Beloved”
Book 1: Immortal
Beloved
“Cate Tiernan’s “Immortal
Beloved”—book 1 in the “Immortal Beloved” series—is the exciting introduction
to a remarkable new immortals series.
Tiernan creates a world where both light and dark magic exist and
immortals can live long lives undetected among humans. Tiernan’s complex cast of characters are
charming, witty, bold, vivacious, trustworthy, loyal, and kind. Tiernan’s hero, Reyn, is an alpha male to the
core with a tortured past and an uncertain future. Her heroine, Nastasya, is equally damaged and
constantly running from the person she strives to become. “Immortal Beloved” begins Nastasya’s journey
to uncover her past, find herself, and discover if Reyn could be her one true
love despite their common history. “Immortal
Beloved” is filled with danger, intrigue, romance, and passion. Tiernan has created a phenomenal start to
this intriguing new series.” Copyright

Review: Wicked Cravings - The Phoenix Pack - Book 2
Wright, Suzanne “The Phoenix Pack”
Book 2: Wicked
Cravings
“Suzanne Wright’s “Wicked
Cravings”—book 2 in “The Phoenix Pack” series—continues the fast-paced
paranormal adventure full of sinfully delicious were-hunks, erotic temptations,
and unforeseen perils. Wright returns
readers to Phoenix Pack territory to deal with the ups and downs of a wolf
finding his or her true mate. Wright
continues the storyline introduced in book 1 “Feral Sins” by focusing primarily
on the love story between Dante and Jaime.
She maintains her unique writing style in “Wicked Cravings” that was
established in book 1, which is a combination of raw emotion, unanticipated
humor, and intense eroticism. “Wicked
Cravings” gives readers a taste of the love and acceptance that can be found
when you are willing to truly fight for it.
Wright’s “Wicked Cravings” was definitely worth waiting for, and leaves
readers craving the next installment of “The Phoenix Pack” series.” Copyright

Review: A Night of Wickedness - Wicked Ways - Book 1
Nelson,
J. D. “Wicked Ways”
Book
1 : A Night of Wickedness
“J. D. Nelson’s “A Night of Wickedness”—book 1 in
the “Wicked Ways” series—is a tale of romance, erotic excess and betrayal. Nelson weaves a paranormal world that exists
seamlessly within the real world to give readers the impression that her characters
could be right next door. Her male
characters range from commanding egotistical, and sexy to potent, aggressive,
and virile. Her female character is
beautiful, and brash. Nelson’s storyline
follows a complicated love triangle between the three main characters replete
with unforeseen plot twists and a heartbreaking betrayal of trust. Although “A Night of Wickedness” is only a
medium length novel (approx.. 165 pages), the story is an action-packed,
fulfilling read that sucks in the reader and doesn’t let go. Nelson leaves readers begging for more
wickedness and the June 2013 release of book 2 “Wolves Will Be Wolves”.”

Review: Dangerous - Courting the Darkness Saga - Book 2
Fuller,
Karen “Courting the Darkness
Saga”
Book
2 : Dangerous
“Karen Fuller’s “Dangerous”—book 2 in the “Courting
the Darkness Saga”—is the sexy and stunning continuation of the erotic
paranormal romance saga. Replete with
vampires, shape shifters, and witches, “Dangerous” is fraught with evil
villains, sexual tension, and overwhelming alpha males who think they know
everything. What’s a girl to do? She gets a little dangerous, and Fuller
writes dangerous “bad girls” with her own charming flair. Although the primary focus of “Dangerous” is
Drake and Sherry’s love story, Fuller continues the storylines of other beloved
characters including Mica, Desiree, and Caleb.
“Dangerous” is full of mystery, emotion, eroticism, and so many plot
twists readers will be on the edge of their seats. Vampires shape shifters, and witches may be

Book
1 : Courting the Darkness
“Karen Fuller’s “Courting the Darkness”—book 1 in
the “Courting the Darkness Saga”—is a trifecta of erotic adventure with
witches, vampires, and shape shifters.
Fuller’s male characters—vampires and shape shifters alike—are through
and through alpha males with plenty of confidence, aggressiveness, and
possessiveness to go around. Her female
characters vary from self-centered and bad-tempered to slightly neurotic and totally
loveable. Fuller’s villains are a
sadistic and heinous lot that readers will love to hate. Her fantasy world closely matches the real
world pulling readers in and not letting go.
“Courting the Darkness” is fast-paced, humorous, and erotic. Fuller makes readers want to court the darkness again and again.”

Review: Moon - New Species - Book 10
Dohner,
Laurann “New Species”
Book
10: Moon
“Laurann Dohner’s “Moon”—book 10 in the “New
Species” series—is a paranormal psychological erotic romance thriller. Ms. Dohner tries another new writing formula
in “Moon” by blending the current storyline with elements of the hero and
heroine’s pasts. The breaks in the story
from past to present create intriguing psychological twists. “Moon” is a refreshing blend of dark and
light emotional elements with plenty of erotic romance to keep readers
entertained. Dohner uses Moon’s story to
introduce additional back material about the Species, which fills the gaps for
readers and sets the stage for future works.
Despite the large number of works in the “New Species” series, Dohner
continues to find ways to keep readers coming back for more.” Copyright 2013 by Amber L. Barr www.vampireandimmortalbooks.com
